State Farm Arena, Atlanta: rigging, loading and technical review

STATE-FARM-ARENA identifies the venue at 1 State Farm Drive, Atlanta, formerly Philips Arena. It is separate from State Farm Stadium in Arizona. This preparation guide does not establish bookings, permits or work performed by GLMedia at the arena.

Which documents support the technical advance?

The current website confirms identity and address. The technical packet is hosted and linked by ArenaNetwork, a venue association. No later arena-published revision was located during this review. Its 2020 notes are not presented as a current contract.

Book an Event and public maps describe spaces and layouts but do not replace production documents or a structural rating. Confirm the exact end-stage or center configuration, retractable seating, stage and support areas.

Which loading routes and docks must be verified?

The packet describes six levelers and reserves bay 6 for building deliveries. This does not establish six available touring positions. Its dock plan separates trucks, buses, pedestrians and areas to keep clear. Confirm current appointments, holding, circulation and access changes.

The table preserves opening examples from the older document. The stage-left route includes a hallway door lower than the vomitory opening. Verify the narrowest/lowest point, turns, ramps, wheels and complete route. Listed forklift inventory does not establish availability or authorize an outside operator.

Which loading routes and docks must be verified?
Route / dated sourcePublished openingConfirmation needed
Dock, packet p. 78 ft wide × 9 ft high.Assigned bay and complete route.
Downstage left/right, p. 137 ft wide × 9 ft 4 in high.Doors, turns and protection.
Stage left, p. 139 ft × 9 ft 6 in; hallway: 7 ft 9 in high. The lower opening constrains the route.
Stage right, p. 1310 ft wide × 11 ft high. Not a certified floor rating or maneuver.

What remains to be validated for rigging, floors and crew?

The rigging drawing shows beams and obstructions but does not provide a verified point WLL or accepted residual capacity for the project. Do not treat steel sections, colors or the blue scoreboard area as hanging permission. Request current CAD, complete weights, reactions and structural review.

The document names Crew One and PAW as approved options and allows external rig-plot review. Reconfirm that list; it does not establish current general exclusivity, outside-motor permission or accepted crew. Floor support and wheel limits also remain open.

How should the power diagram be read without adding ratings?

The diagram labels 1600 A for each stage side and 1400 A for broadcast, alongside 208 V three-phase branches. Do not add the drawn breakers to declare simultaneous capacity. Request the single-line diagram, available demand and actually assigned circuits.

The packet assigns tie-ins/disconnects to the arena electrician and separates stage-left/right transformers. Confirm current terms, Camlock, neutral/ground, protection and routing with that responsible person. Its nominal 70 ft stage distance is not the final cable length.

How do the scoreboard, displays and audio differ from touring production?

The packet’s 75 ft refers to the lowest point of the center-hung at maximum elevation. It is not touring trim or usable steel height. Confirm scoreboard position, curtains, lighting and show loads; do not transfer the figure to the roof.

The LED appendix separates zones, pixel dimensions and cases requiring programming. Request current templates and a content test rather than delivering to a 2020 table alone. The document’s audio/intercom information mentions MADI, Clear-Com and Riedel; current interfaces and patching still need acceptance.

Which packet deadlines require reconfirmation?

The table is a dated-packet reference, not the current event schedule or a guaranteed legal deadline. Agree on reference dates, business days, contract review and owners; allow for engineering and permits before relying on these dates.

Advance curtains with the rigging company; a request does not guarantee operation. Package receiving requires coordination and does not reserve a dock. Old prices, personal contacts and charges are not adopted as current.

Which packet deadlines require reconfirmation?
Submission / dated packetDocument lead timeCurrent confirmation
Rig plot, p. 1014 days before the show.Current revision, engineering and acceptance.
Curtains, p. 1372 hours before the event.Rigging company and operation.
Shipments, p. 1748 hours before the show; earlier by agreement.Receiving, storage and pickup.
Confetti and gases, p. 197 business days before the event.Product, cleanup, insurance and applicable permits.
Pyrotechnics, p. 1914 business days before the event.Venue, authorities and event-specific testing.

How should haze, cold sparks and pyrotechnics be reviewed?

The packet requires Event Manager knowledge/approval for fog/haze and cold sparks, and pyrotechnic coordination with authorities and the Fire Marshal. This does not authorize production to operate effects or alter alarms. Confirm product, operator, insurance, testing and required watch for the event.

Georgia OCI publishes proximate-audience licensing resources and fireworks processes. Venue acceptance, organizer authorization and public permits are separate. A complete procedure was not validated here and no application was initiated.

What must be accepted before scope and pricing are finalized?

Obtain acceptance of document revision, CAD/WLL, floor loads, loading route/equipment, power, network/audio/video, crew, changes, insurance and permits. As a technical recommendation, rehearse signals and content with the agreed system before the show.

The contract must assign engineering, supervision and change tasks/costs. A capacity figure, old table or equipment quote does not certify installation. This guide organizes the technical advance for review without ordering services.

Frequently asked questions

Does the current ArenaNetwork link make the PDF a current revision?

No. The filename indicates 2021 and its pages bear 2020 notes. It is an advance-planning reference; the arena must confirm the applicable technical and contract revision.

Can I add the branches to budget available power?

No. A breaker diagram does not establish simultaneous demand or assigned capacity. Request arena-electrician confirmation, the single-line diagram, circuits, connectors and event distribution.

Does the scoreboard’s 75 ft authorize that touring trim?

No. It describes the center-hung elevation in the packet. It does not certify rigging points, roof capacity, steel height or installation clearances.
