SICO 1800 Series: a stage for talks, panels and awards

Compare single and dual heights, plan hotel access and choose stage sections, protection and support for a conference or awards show.

Identification and use

The SICO 1800 is a folding mobile stage family. Its deck and supporting frame form a self-contained section; guardrails, steps, ramps and presentation finishes must be specified for the actual arrangement.

For a hotel panel, start with sightlines, occupied chairs, a lectern and the speakers’ route. The right proposal includes the usable stage and the space needed around it.

Components and variants

Stage sections
The official information sheet lists 3 × 8, 4 × 8 and 6 × 8 ft single-height decks. Confirm the supplied reference and finish.
Height variants
Single-height options: 8, 16, 24 or 32 in. Dual-height 4 × 8 and 6 × 8 ft models: 16/24, 24/32 or 32/40 in. Each unit has its own specified height or pair.
Transport and joints
Built-in casters for handling; interlock hooks join sections according to the operating instructions.
Documentation
Information sheet R1 and operating instructions 101109 Rev. C, linked by SICO at the consultation date.

Plan the show

For a hotel changing from a panel to awards, compare retaining the stage and changing furniture with a separate presentation area at room level. The latter may reduce a stage change but still needs sightline, access and circulation review.

We can assess a stage package, an installation scope or coordination with existing hotel sections, alongside microphones, presentation display and lighting. Confirm the supplied modules and venue schedule before committing to a layout or changeover time.

Choose the fixed layout when it meets both segments’ space and sightline needs; compare a furniture change when it provides a useful presentation area and the schedule allows the work. The proposal can show a layout, included accessories, crew tasks, rehearsal and changeover support, with hotel-provided items identified separately.

Preparation before use

  1. Identify every section, its height option, surface and condition; use the serial number when resolving parts.
  2. Measure the load-in route and folded dimensions for the selected unit, including doors, turns, elevator and storage.
  3. Have trained personnel follow the exact operating instructions. Check supports, pins and interlocks, plus guardrails and access before handover.
  4. Agree furniture, equipment positions, cable routes and the responsible inspection before opening the area.

Questions and solutions

Should we choose a single or dual-height unit?

A single-height unit suits a documented fixed elevation. A dual-height unit offers its specified pair, rather than continuous adjustment. Choose after checking audience sightlines, access and the available setup space; identify the actual unit before planning a height change.

How can we change from a panel to awards without rebuilding the stage?

First compare a fixed lectern and clear award-presentation area with a furniture change on the same documented platform. Mark occupied chair positions, waiting space and the award recipients’ route. We can prepare two layout options and a cue list showing who clears furniture, checks the area and releases the next segment. Confirm the work window with the hotel before promising a changeover time. Never move or adjust an occupied stage.

Does a rolling stage mean we can move it during the show?

Built-in wheels facilitate handling of the unit. They do not establish an occupied rolling-stage configuration. The operating instructions prohibit pushing or pulling a half-open unit. Plan transport with the unit in the documented condition, a clear route and trained personnel; obtain a separately documented solution if the show requires movement.

Two sections will not join. What should we check?

Keep the affected area unloaded and closed. Confirm the references, chosen heights, orientation, joint condition and supporting floor against the manual. The specified interlock hooks must be used. Do not force a connection, improvise hardware or conceal a gap with carpet. Ask the supplier to resolve a persistent mismatch.

Are steps, a ramp and guardrails interchangeable options?

They serve different functions. The manual calls for guardrails on stage setups; steps provide a route for users able to use them, while a ramp needs its own layout, transitions and applicable access review. A listed accessory alone does not establish an accessible route. Include edge protection and access in the proposal before selecting the final height.

Can you quote without a finished plan?

Yes. Start with date, venue, activity and an approximate stage size or number of speakers. Photos of the room and existing labels can help. We can develop options for sourcing, layout, installation and AV integration; exact units, project loads, venue access and availability are confirmed before execution. Heavy instruments, wheels or concentrated loads need their own documented assessment.

The hotel already has a stage. Can GLMedia provide only what is missing?

We can assess a partial scope: documented compatible accessories, microphones, presentation video, lighting or technical assistance. Share the hotel’s equipment list and who is responsible for its assembly and acceptance. The proposal can separate existing material from supply, setup and show support, avoiding duplicate rentals.

How can we alternate speeches, video playback and award presentations?

Prepare a cue list with the speaker position, microphone handoff, video starts and award-recipient route. Compare a fixed lectern position with a clear presentation center and furniture changes between segments. We can quote rehearsal and audiovisual cue support; stage alterations need their own cleared work window and inspection.
