Camping World Stadium: field, structures and show power in Orlando

Camping World Stadium in Orlando was previously named Florida Citrus Bowl and Orlando Citrus Bowl. Establish whether the rental covers the stadium, its field or another campus area: Tinker Field and the neighboring fields have separate scopes.

Which documents apply during stadium construction?

The guide is hosted on the official domain; its printed page numbers match the PDF page count. A revision later than Version 2 was not confirmed. The A-Z Guide is for guests and does not replace the production package or setup acceptance.

The official construction page announces work through summer 2027, with events continuing in phases. Its specific notice closes Church Street between Tampa Avenue and Rio Grande Avenue starting December 8, 2025. The same page retains notes about changed or postponed dates, so confirm the actual route and available areas for your date; do not dispatch trucks using the 2025 route.

How are load-in and field protection verified?

Pages 5 and 7 locate load-in at 1610 West Church Street, off South Tampa Avenue. The public site lists 1 Citrus Bowl Place. These identify the same stadium, not separate venues. Request the gate, slot and production route updated for construction.

Page 7 says many field covers can carry vehicles but requires checking with the stadium contact before driving onto the field. It does not establish a wheel or point load limit for your equipment. Submit total weight, wheel/point loads, footprints, surface, protection and route for acceptance.

How are load-in and field protection verified?
Access or equipmentGuide reference, page 7What needs confirmation
Main dock1 open dock, no leveler; clearance 41 ft wide × 12 ft high.Current operation, height difference and unloading method.
Ramp8 ft wide × 10 ft high.Largest packed item, turns and complete route.
Field access tunnelsNorth: 25 × 15 ft; south center: 10 × 10 ft; southeast/southwest: 24 ft wide × 14 ft high.Assigned route and separation from guests and construction.
Freight elevatorsEast near Gate B and west near Gate E; listed maximum 10,000 lb; car 6 × 10 × 7 ft; door 6 × 7 ft.Usable dimensions, allowable load and availability for the specific move.

How are stage permits and rigging prepared?

Pages 13–14 contain an outdoor structure procedure, Version 1 dated January 25, 2024. It calls for show structural drawings, the stadium life safety plan overlaid on a full event layout, separate pages and a digital seal on each page. It also covers owner signature, notarization, submission, approval, on-site inspection and a Certificate of Completion.

Confirm the current parties and submission channel with the Event Manager before assembling the application. The permit, venue acceptance and inspection are separate milestones. Sample documents in the guide are not approvals for another show.

The reviewed sections did not confirm a suspension grid with allowable loads. Do not transfer Kia Center roof points or capacities. For stages, PA/LED towers and temporary roofs, request design calculations, support reactions, ballast, suspended loads and operating conditions for the actual system.

What power is listed, and what must be allocated to the show?

Pages 24–25 provide a service table and map. These references predate construction and do not establish spare capacity, simultaneous availability or a reservation. As an advance recommendation, submit demand by circuit and request measured voltage, phases, connectors, protection, cable routes and connection responsibility.

The dock row omits voltage and uses an abbreviation insufficient to define a connection. The ground/neutral wording on page 7 is not a wiring instruction either; request the diagram from authorized electrical personnel. Do not treat building emergency generators as confirmed show power.

What LED and equipment does the venue supply, and who builds the show?

Pages 26–28 distinguish stadium video boards from on-field LED screens: the guide states that on-field screens must come from an outside vendor. Confirm current inventory, content templates, interfaces and the personnel operating each system during construction.

Page 8 requires Event Manager confirmation before using backstage equipment. Listed stage decks do not establish a reserved complete stage or included rigging, technicians or operators. Contract for supply, build, connection, operation, strike, labor, minimum calls and costs; this guide does not establish AV exclusivity or approved-provider status for GLMedia.

How are weather and work stoppages coordinated?

Page 34 describes monitoring from production’s arrival and coordination with Orlando Venues, Emergency Management and the weather service. It uses an 8-mile lightning reference and warns that the outdoor stadium has little or no shelter. That distance is neither a wind limit nor a complete restart criterion.

As technical preparation, agree on monitoring and decision roles, alerts, work stoppages, shelter and reentry with the venue and organizer. Request wind thresholds and response steps for each structure from its designer. A rain-or-shine event policy does not authorize a maneuver or structural operation outside accepted conditions.

What review is needed for pyrotechnics, smoke and other effects?

Page 7 refers special effects, pyrotechnics, flame, gases and other hazardous devices to Orlando Fire Department. Its wording places applications within the 10 business days before the event. Confirm the exact deadline and accepted lead time; no guaranteed processing time or permit for your effect was established.

The current city fireworks page requests insurance, a federal explosives license or permit, specifications and a site plan. It does not establish that the same process covers haze, fog or lasers. Identify equipment, consumables, location and cue sequence, and obtain the applicable venue and authority procedure; do not interfere with detection or fire protection systems.

What must be documented before the first truck arrives?

Collect show and life safety plans, construction-phase available areas, load-in routes and time slots, field protection and loads, structural design and ballast, allocated power, labor, effects and the weather plan. Include permit status, inspection scheduling and required completion documentation.

The venue accepts use of its spaces; the authority determines and issues applicable permits; the organizer sets the program and layout; and the contract assigns services and costs. This list is a technical preparation recommendation. Track revisions and changes: neither the worksheet nor a booking certifies the setup.

Frequently asked questions

Can the generic production parking map be used to dispatch trucks?

Not as a dispatch instruction. Page 31 says the map will be customized during the show advance. Request the current plan with holding areas, entrances and times, accounting for construction and road closures.

Can Tinker Field capacities determine attendance for a concert inside the stadium?

No. The Stadium Campus page identifies neighboring fields with their own uses and capacities. Establish the contracted area and approved audience plan for the event; do not transfer capacities between areas.

Does an approved stage permit replace the on-site inspection?

No. The page 14 procedure lists approval notification, an inspection tied to the build schedule and a Certificate of Completion as separate steps. Confirm these milestones and the current requirements with the venue and authority.

Official documentation

Official sources reviewed October 23, 2026. Production Guide Version 2, March 26, 2025: pages 5, 7–8, 13–14, 24–28, 31 and 34–35. References predate construction; no later technical revision was confirmed. Construction, history, campus, guest guide and city permit pages were consulted for the stated scopes.
