RF coordination for conferences and exhibitions

Plan microphones, monitors and neighboring rooms before assigning frequencies.

Ask about rental, purchase or integration

Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.

A shared plan rather than an isolated scan

Proposed scenario: a hotel divides a ballroom into three rooms with several vendors. Gather model, band, count, location and schedule for every link, including IEM, intercom and visiting microphones. Assign one change coordinator and maintain a common list. Leaving a transmitter on or off does not reserve a frequency.

In the US, tuning range is not operating authorization. For UHF systems, review certification, local use and applicable rules. FCC distinguishes conditional unlicensed operation in 614–616 and 657–663 MHz; 653–657 MHz has a different regime. Do not treat the entire 600 MHz band as available. Final selection requires regional equipment and location validation.

Proposed preparation sequence

  1. Inventory units and accessories; identify software-controlled systems and those requiring manual entry of the plan.
  2. Record a venue scan with date, antenna and location. In Wireless Workbench, add inventory, scan data and exclusions before calculating compatibility.
  3. Analyze the complete set, include compatible backups and deploy to supported devices. Check transmitter and receiver assignments; do not change one frequency without reassessing the whole plan.
  4. Check antennas, coax loss, power and exact-model cascade limits. Walk required positions and listen with all necessary links active for the agreed rehearsal. Save the map and recovery responsibility.

What we can assess for a proposal

Compare wired microphones for fixed positions, wireless for movement and compatible antenna distribution. Scope may include survey, coordination file, preparation and show monitoring. Start with date, venue and approximate simultaneous voices; complete third-party inventory and schedules before finalizing.

More setup questions

Is a clear frequency in a scan enough?

No. It must also fit other links, equipment and operating conditions. A scan captures one time and location; another nearby production can change the environment.

Does increasing power fix dropouts?

First distinguish battery, RF loss and audio loss. Check antennas and distribution against the manual; more power cannot replace coordination and may worsen coexistence.
