Projection guide
Screen size and readability
Ask GLMedia about rental options for event screens and projection. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.
Planning criteria
With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.
Diagonal alone does not describe usable image area or last-row readability. Record image width, height, aspect ratio, position, and demanding content.
Start with a photo and sample slide. We can turn missing measurements into a practical room check list.
System decisions
- Aspect ratio
- Distinguish 16:9, 16:10, and 4:3. The same diagonal gives different widths and heights across these formats.
- Position
- Measure bottom-edge height and distance to critical viewing positions. Check heads, furniture, stage, and sightline obstructions.
- Content
- Test text and contrast from distant seats. Simplify dense tables when reading requires it.
What to share
Share available width and height, seating layout, and photos from critical views. Identify detailed data versus mainly visual content.
If the drawing is pending, mark screen and last row on a sketch. We can identify measurements to confirm.
Preparing the comparison
- Record image-area measurements separately from frame and structure.
- Match slide, equipment output, and screen aspect ratios; check borders and cropping without stretching content.
- Check bottom edge and visibility from critical seats with the room set up.
- Show demanding content under planned lighting. Adjust text size, design, or screen and repeat the affected check.
Three technical questions
Is the diagonal enough?
Also request width, height, and aspect ratio of the visible area. Frame measurements may differ from the image area.
Is there a fixed screen size for an attendee count?
Seating, distance, obstructions, and content affect reading. We can compare positions and sizes without deriving them from attendance alone.
Will higher resolution fix any small text?
Review projected physical size and reading distance. A better signal does not remove obstructions or automatically enlarge screen content.
Checks to guide decisions
| Symptom | Check | What it helps distinguish |
|---|---|---|
| Bottom hidden | Bottom edge and sightlines. | Position. |
| Small text at the back | Sample from last row. | Content and size. |
| Unexpected borders | File, output, and screen aspect ratios. | Format. |
Installation and limits
Check actual structure and space before defining height or attachment.
Keep the original presentation format before adapting it. Review video, graphics, and text after changes.
