Projection guide
Portable and folding-frame screens
Ask GLMedia about rental options for event screens and projection. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.
Planning criteria
With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.
Tripod, roll-up, and folding-frame screens use different transport and setup arrangements. A tensioned surface also needs a compatible system; the name alone does not establish flatness, size, or front/rear use.
We can compare options from photos and sample content. Separate image area, outside dimensions, and leg footprint.
System decisions
- Screen and format
- Confirm visible width, height, aspect ratio, and borders. Check that content and projection fit without distortion.
- Surface
- Identify code and documented use: front, rear, or another variant. Do not infer compatibility from color alone.
- Structure and placement
- Identify frame, legs, accessories, and permitted height for the exact assembly. Include circulation and setup/removal space.
What to share
Describe content, space, and audience position. Floor and access photos help review options.
For an existing screen, send surface, frame, and leg labels plus visible width and height. We can identify gaps without assuming the kit.
Preparing the comparison
- Check labels and dimensions against the manufacturer. Documentary example: Monoblox 32 BXS-AV203/R10 has 203 × 157 cm outside dimensions, 183 × 137 cm image, and BXF-AV203157A1 front surface.
- This example does not identify available equipment. Check the actual assembly before specifying surface, height, or accessories.
- Plan setup and stability using the exact manual and actual space, without improvised attachments or ballast.
- Test geometry and readability with representative content. Check bottom-edge visibility and circulation.
Three technical questions
Can any portable screen be used outdoors?
Check authorized system use. The consulted Monoblox manual restricts these mobile screens to indoor use; adding weight does not make them outdoor equipment.
Can the same fabric handle front and rear projection?
Only if the exact surface supports both. Check code and datasheet; a family may offer different materials for each path.
How do I compare screens with the same advertised size?
Request visible area, outside dimensions, aspect ratio, surface, and legs. Check condition and required space too; advertised diagonal does not describe the assembly.
Checks to guide decisions
| Symptom | Check | What it helps distinguish |
|---|---|---|
| Image does not match border | Visible area and aspect ratio. | Format. |
| Distorted or damaged surface | Condition and identified assembly. | Screen. |
| Height or stability unconfirmed | Legs, accessories, and exact manual. | Pending setup. |
Installation and limits
Check parts and locks against the manual before use. Do not add loads to the Monoblox frame.
Use exact-surface cleaning and storage instructions. Do not apply products or methods intended for another fabric.
