Two screens and presentation control
Ask GLMedia about rental options for multiscreen presentations. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.
Planning criteria
With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.
Two screens may repeat a presentation, show different content, or separate audience and presenter views. Define each destination image before choosing generation and distribution.
Start with a sketch and intended use before computer or final schedule selection.
System decisions
- Image generation
- Identify actual independent outputs and computer support. Multiple adapter connectors do not prove separate desktops.
- Distribution
- For identical images, check distributor and formats at every destination. Different images require paths that support them.
- Control
- Separate advance commands, source selection, and output images. Identify where any private notes may appear.
What to share
Describe content on each screen and who advances it. Include video, audio, and presenter notes.
Share operating system, application, outputs, and adapters if selected. We can plan checks for the combination.
Preparing the comparison
- Draw source and content for every destination, including operational monitors and notes.
- Check outputs, application, and formats. In the Windows/PowerPoint example, distinguish duplication, extension, and Presenter View without transferring menus to other platforms.
- Rehearse content and control on the actual computer; check that notes stay off audience screens.
- Test audio and backup recovery. Identify shared cables, distributors, or outputs.
Three technical questions
Does a splitter generate independent content?
A distributor duplicating a signal does not create another view. Different images require independent outputs and processing in the selected system.
Does the clicker also select the image on each screen?
An advance command and an image output serve different functions. PerfectCue Mini appears over USB as a keyboard; configure and test video separately.
Is a second computer already a complete backup?
Test files, fonts, video, control, and image selection. Identify the recovery point and shared stages; another computer does not prove the complete path.
Checks to guide decisions
| Symptom | Check | What it helps distinguish |
|---|---|---|
| Screens unexpectedly repeat | Output mode and distribution. | Duplication versus independence. |
| Another application advances | Focus and control command. | Operation. |
| Audience sees notes | Display and view assignment. | Presentation privacy. |
Installation and limits
Save configuration and usable file versions before output or presentation changes.
Test connection changes outside the live program. Confirm recovery to the intended view.
