Williams AV Digi-Wave DLT 400

Plan speakers, listeners, language delivery and charging.

Ask about rental, purchase or integration

Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.

What it is and when it helps

DLT 400 is a Digi-Wave transceiver: it transmits and receives. DLR 400 RCH only receives and cannot provide microphone questions. This page covers standard DLT 400, not ACM or AIM.

Connections and components

Specify DLT units for guides/interpreters, DLR 400 RCH for listeners, compatible microphones/headsets and USB-C or approved station charging. Record generation, version, group and security; do not assume other series interchange.

Guided tour or bilingual meeting

Separate route, speaking turns and language feeds. A tour with questions needs different roles and settings from an audience listening to interpretation. Label units and rehearse the actual route.

Proposal options

  • Initial option: Portable guide/listener package with defined functions.
  • Expand the scope: Bilingual configuration, headsets, charging, distribution and support.
  • Another alternative: Fixed discussion system or IR distribution if better suited to the venue.
  • For a quote: Date, duration, route, languages, listeners and who must speak.

Prepare before the event

  1. Identify models and choose tour or interpretation mode.
  2. Agree group, roles, language and security.
  3. Charge and check units, microphones and headsets before handover.
  4. Test a phrase per language and the route; start at low listening volume.

Questions and answers

Does everyone need a DLT?

Listeners can assess DLR 400 RCH. Speaking requires a transceiver and a configuration allowing it; more receivers do not create more speakers.

Why can one unit not hear the guide?

Compare group, mode, security, charge and volume with a working unit. Check guide microphone and Talk too; do not erase the whole group’s settings.

Are language channel and group the same?

They serve different roles. Define the communicating group and the feed each person must hear for the selected mode; label languages before handover.

Does it translate automatically?

It does not create interpretation. Provide interpreter speech, floor monitoring and routing; test both directions for bilingual use.

Can older generations be used?

Compatibility depends on model and supported functions. Check the identified devices and versions against the manual; do not assign ACM/AIM functions to standard DLT.

How do we plan charging and safe listening?

Allow time with approved cables or chargers, check condition and prepare reserve units. Start at low volume; remove swollen or damaged batteries from service for qualified attention rather than opening them.
