RatPac AKS Plus: connected Wi‑Fi and verified control
Prepare the app-to-fixture route without confusing the two wireless links.
Proposed test, scope and alternatives
AKS Plus accepts compatible app control and sends CRMX to compatible receivers. Tablet Wi‑Fi and fixture CRMX links require separate checks. RatPac calls for testing older-generation fixtures before use.
The March 2022 guide documents wired DMX output for firmware 3.68/SAMD5.H with a specific output adapter/settings. Do not assume every mini-XLR is an output or substitute an input adapter.
- Record unit, firmware, app/version, device and receivers. Map data/power for each element and plan charging/actual runtime around the operating period.
- Check tablet network and app output: protocol, destination and universe must match AKS settings. Opening configuration does not prove useful app data.
- With one active source, check CRMX link, address and mode on a known fixture before adding others.
- For a linked but unresponsive rig, isolate app/network, AKS reception, radio and receiver/patch. Avoid resetting every receiver or changing firmware during the show.
- For difficult Wi‑Fi, we can assess Ethernet input or another documented route. Rehearse at actual positions with agreed recovery and venue restrictions.

Does Wi‑Fi connection mean fixtures are linked?
No. It establishes only tablet–AKS connection; verify data and receiver links.
Will any wireless fixture work?
Verify protocol, generation and modes. Wireless alone does not identify compatibility.
Can it output wired DMX?
The cited guide covers that function with firmware, mode and adapter conditions. Confirm the actual unit.
What can you assess?
Control, transmitter/receivers, network, preparation and operation, or wired distribution. Send date, venue and intended effect without a final list; compatibility/availability need confirmation.
