Connections and required equipment

A and B accept audio. Thru carries its corresponding input before gain; Mix Out combines inputs after their gains. Neither output proves that the loudspeaker itself is reproducing sound.

Prepare the system

  1. Lower source and speaker levels before reconnecting.
  2. Match input sensitivity to the source; use LINE for a mixer line output.
  3. Record preset, EQ, delay and SUB MENU before changing them.

Questions and troubleshooting

Why does a mixer feed distort?

Check sensitivity before adding gain.

  1. Confirm LINE on the input receiving the mixer.
  2. Compare a known source and cable at controlled level; observe limiter activity.
  3. If LINE with an unclipped source removes distortion, the input sensitivity was relevant; verify clean audio at the required controlled level. If distortion remains with a known-good source and modest level, stop increasing gain and send the comparison to support.
Why does the next speaker ignore my gain change?

Check which output feeds it.

  1. Trace Thru versus Mix Out using the rear labels.
  2. Test one source and one destination; document the intended gain relationship.
  3. A pre-gain Thru should not follow that input-gain change; Mix Out should reflect its documented post-gain mix. Verify the chosen output matches the intended behavior, then restore rehearsal levels. Unexpected behavior on a confirmed path requires support, not a reset.
What should I record if protection recurs?

A forum report does not establish a firmware cure.

  1. Record the exact message, version, input conditions and ventilation.
  2. Remove the affected unit from service and refer recurring protection to qualified support.
