Panasonic PT-REZ12
Panasonic PT-REZ12: wide presentations and model choice
Compare large-format presentation projection using the canvas, available distance, and optics required by the space.
Model and application
Documentation distinguishes PT-REZ12 with a supplied lens from PT-REZ12L using optional lenses. Confirm the complete body designation and lens code in the proposal; the family name alone does not define the supplied package.
Signal and optics
- Image
- WUXGA 1920 × 1200 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio. Supported higher-resolution inputs are converted; they do not add native pixels to the projected image.
- Optics
- The PT-REZ12 supplied lens has a throw ratio of 1.36–2.10:1. Other lenses need their own table, compatibility, and installation conditions.
- Video and options
- HDMI and DisplayPort are documented inputs. Identify the installed expansion card; an empty slot does not provide a card’s inputs or functions.
System preparation
- Share the date, venue, image width and shape, planned light, and possible projector position. Photos and approximate measurements are enough to start.
- Select body and lens by code. Check optical distance, shift, and measurement reference before approving a mounting point.
- Define source, format, intermediate devices, and audio; test real content and save operating settings.
- Plan support, access, power, and beam area using exact documentation and qualified personnel before fixing height and walking routes.
Planning questions
Does the proposal include the lens or just the body?
Identify both. Compare a supplied-lens configuration with optics compatible with the room’s distance. Distinguish PT-REZ12 from PT-REZ12L and specify screen, support, signal, configuration, and operation required by the program.
How do we choose optics for a fixed projector position?
Use width, aspect ratio, and distance from the optical reference with the official guide for the combination. Check height, shift, focus, and housing space as well as throw range. If it does not fit, compare size, position, or lens; lumens do not solve geometry.
Can I reuse a Panasonic lens from another series?
We need its exact code. The lens guide identifies compatible families and conditions; brand or mount appearance does not establish compatibility. Assess the existing lens before replacing it, and identify accessories or procedures specific to ultra-short-throw lenses.
Are PT-REZ12 and PT-REQ12 the same model?
No. REZ specifications state a WUXGA image; REQ specifies a higher-resolution image with Quad Pixel Drive enabled. Identify full model, lens, signal, and required content detail before comparing proposals. An input setting does not turn REZ into REQ.
How do we prepare a wide presentation?
Agree on content shape and its visible area within the image. Compare preserving everything with margins, adapting the design, or another solution; filling by cropping is unsuitable if important text is lost. Start with a preliminary slide and establish usable width and audience readability before exporting everything.
Can we start before choosing the lens or finalizing the program?
Yes. Date, venue, content outline, and preliminary measurements let us prepare rental or purchase options and installation, configuration, and operation scope. Complete the body, optics, and required tests in the proposal rather than assume a universal combination.
Checks by symptom
| Image cannot fit from the fixed position | Check lens code, aspect ratio, and throw table before increasing digital correction. |
|---|---|
| Expected input is missing | Check body connectors and the actual expansion card, along with source and input selection. |
| Text or edge out of focus | Compare pattern and source; check lens, focus, alignment, and surface with the real system. |
Use and safety
Optical safety review depends on body, lens, and installation. Plan access control and beam path using the exact procedure; do not look into the lens.
Keep ventilation and service access clear. Lens changes and internal tasks follow the combination’s documentation and require qualified personnel.
