Model and formats
USB Capture HDMI 4K Plus accepts input/loop up to 4096×2160/60; listed USB capture reaches 4K30 subject to bandwidth and format. Distinguish HDMI 4K Pro and SDI variants.
Identify computer, OS, app, cable and port. Agree meeting or file format rather than input acceptance alone. Compare dedicated capture/recording if another deliverable is required.
Case 25: laptop capture station
Map source to HDMI IN, USB to computer and optional loop monitoring. The manual distinguishes INPUT and LOOP THRU; identify ports rather than their shape. Specify application audio as well as video.
Propose a motion, speech and clip take with show functions active. Review file or meeting reception, not just utility preview. Test computer load and attached devices; assign monitoring and source-loss response.
Case 26: detected USB without picture
Separate enumerated device, detected signal and requested capture. Record actual source resolution/rate, input and application request. Compare source/cable on a known receiver, then the full path without changing everything together.
Loop picture does not validate USB or its settings. Retain a sample and compare local capture with show software, closing the other app before returning. Check selection and permissions through the USB guide; retain both states if only one format fails.
Check data cable, port and shared bandwidth without inferring speed from connector color. Use authorized unprotected test media: Magewell does not capture HDCP. Do not promise an adapter will remove protection.

Define computer, capture, connections, audio, technician and rehearsal or a partial scope; confirm availability and configuration in the proposal.
Does loop monitoring confirm capture?
Use loop to check that HDMI branch, then verify USB, application and file or meeting separately. The rehearsal take should show motion and reproduce speech at the agreed destination. If loop works but the app stays black, retain the source and compare selection, permissions and capture format, followed by USB cable/port and load. Record each change and result before replacing the capture device.
Does input maximum define the file?
Specify app-requested resolution, rate and format and inspect the saved result. Input alone does not define delivery.
What helps when only one format fails?
Source, actual signal, cable/port, OS/app, request and samples of both states, allowing comparison without resetting everything.
Can it use a client laptop?
Yes, after reviewing interfaces, resources, software and responsibility, with a capture/audio/reception rehearsal under planned load.
