Confirm SB15m on the label. Related SB models need their own presets and cabling rules.
Connections and required equipment
Trace console bus → controller input → processed output → speaker IN. LINK is a parallel speaker connection subject to the exact controller loading limits.
Prepare the system
- Record controller, preset/library and enclosure layout.
- Compare cables, output assignments and load with current exact documentation.
- Test at controlled level and measure sub/top summation.
Questions and troubleshooting
Why is the sub silent?
Find where the signal stops.
- Compare console bus, controller input/output and mute status.
- Safely isolate outputs before checking the speaker cable and correct IN.
- If the controller input meters but the output is muted/protected, resolve that condition with the responsible technician before adding level. Verify the intended circuit at controlled level after correction; persistent silence on an approved path requires service.
Does a cardioid preset alone create rear rejection?
It requires the documented physical layout and routing.
- Compare orientations and output assignments with the exact system diagram.
- Have the system engineer verify processing and measure front/rear response.
- If physical orientation or output mapping differs from the diagram, the preset alone cannot validate the arrangement. After the approved correction, compare measured front/rear behavior with the design; unresolved rejection requires the system engineer, not trial delay or polarity changes.
Can LINK feed another cabinet?
A connector is not a loading approval.
- Identify controller, output mode, cabinet count and cable plan.
- Use the current matching load table; do not extrapolate from an older manual or another amplifier.
- If the exact loading table or circuit cannot be confirmed, do not add the cabinet. Once the responsible technician validates the circuit, verify all intended enclosures at controlled level and observe controller status; any protection or uncertainty stops the test.
Choose the next check
| Observation | Next check | What to record |
|---|---|---|
| Silent sub | Bus/controller/speaker path | First absent indication |
| Weak combined bass | Preset, position and summation | Measurement location |
| Poor rear rejection | Layout and output assignment | Orientation and preset |
Precautions
- Do not connect console line audio directly to speaker inputs.
- Suspension and pole mounting require exact approved hardware and mechanical design.
- Do not copy mixed-sub endfire distances, delays or output loads from user anecdotes.
