GLP JDC2 IP
Configure the JDC2 IP hybrid strobe with its matching V2.0.1 personality, layer priority and verified NDI reception.
Ask GLMedia about renting GLP JDC2 IP for your event. Availability and configuration are subject to confirmation.
Model and purpose

- Model
- GLP JDC2 IP
- Model
- JDC2 IP; white BEAM and RGB PLATE
- Movement
- Motorized tilt; release lock before powering up
- Power
- 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz; maximum 1500 W at 230 V
- Control reference
- Firmware V2.0.1 and documents Rev20260504-1
A hybrid strobe combining a white line and RGB surfaces for segment effects, internal DigiFX and NDI content in compatible modes. Select the creative method before the personality: Pixel mode does not provide the same functions as modes using internal effects engines.
Prepare your rental inquiry
- Date, city, venue and setup, event and pickup schedule.
- Intended use, area dimensions and equipment already supplied by the venue or production.
- Wash, effect or accent use; location and target area.
- Required zone or pixel control, profile and cabling, subject to model functions.
Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.
You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.
Features and connections
5-pin XLR carries DMX, dual etherCON ports carry network data, and TRUE1 TOP In / Thru carries power. An output connector does not permit fixture chaining at every voltage.
RDM and GLP iQ.Mesh are control options. CRMX requires the optional module in the FPO port: do not assume it is fitted.
V2.0.1 changes the DMX layout and Canvas system. Earlier shows require patch and DigiFX/NDI adaptation; an update does not automatically preserve previous behavior.
Prepare the system
- Record actual firmware and mode; use the matching library. Assign a valid address and space for the complete footprint before connecting the console.
- In Protocol Setup → Data In, select DMX, Art-Net, sACN or the available wireless system. For network control, check IP, mask and universe; Art-Net begins at port 0 and sACN at universe 1.
- Release tilt, secure mounting and safety retention, and clear the movement envelope. Test at moderate output with nobody looking into the front; record Brightness Limit, Fan Mode and No Signal.
Questions and troubleshooting
Does an earlier show control shifted functions or lose effects?
Firmware migration changes more than the personality name.
- Match fixture version, library and DMX chart. V2.0.1 is not directly compatible with patches and shows from earlier versions.
- Reserve the new footprint, replace the personality using console tools and verify every function before live use. Do not keep channel positions based on similarity.
- Reconfigure DigiFX/NDI and Canvas separately. Preserve an earlier show copy and test outside the performance; this guide does not establish a tested conversion.
Do segments fail to respond, or does another layer hide the color?
Mix Priority determines how MAIN and SEGMENT combine in modes that offer it.
- Check dimmers and values for both layers. MAIN Only ignores SEGMENT; SEGMENT Only ignores MAIN. Select the intended layer before changing colors.
- HTP takes the highest color value from either layer. Lower the layer not under test and compare a segment with a simple reference.
- For missing light, also check Rate, Duration and Intensity FX; an open dimmer does not guarantee continuous output. Check brightness limits and fan mode without bypassing protection.
Network connected, but no NDI content?
Video reception, content selection and Canvas positioning are separate checks.
- Direct input supports full-bandwidth NDI up to 640×480; NDI HX is unsupported. Match IP and mask to the source.
- Use the required routing tag, such as GLP-JDC2-1, and select that source with DigiFX/NDI Select. The tag must form part of the full stream name.
- Match Canvas to content and check position, scale, orientation and color modifiers. For larger arrays, assess bandwidth and network design before diagnosing a fixture fault.
Quick reference
| V2.0.1 mode | Channels | Last possible start |
|---|---|---|
| M1 Minimal | 18 | 495 |
| M2 Basic | 30 | 483 |
| M3 Segment 12-12 | 105 | 408 |
| M4 Segment 12-24 | 141 | 372 |
| M5 Pixel | 85 | 428 |
Precautions
- IP65; temporary outdoor use and ambient -10–45 °C. Keep 1 m from illuminated surfaces and 0.2 m from combustible materials; maintain suitable connectors and caps.
- At 100–120 V, 60 Hz, do not use Thru to supply another fixture. At 200–240 V, 50 Hz, the limit is two fixtures total, subject to actual circuit, cable and protection limits.
- Use the JDC2 bracket required for the orientation and secondary retention at the designated base points. Alignment pins do not provide safety retention. Qualified personnel must perform rigging.
- Avoid direct exposure to strobe and intense output. For flightcase transport, the manual requires tilt unlocked and the head supported by the packaging; do not force the lock or place the fixture unstably.
Terms on this page
- DMX
- A data protocol controlling lighting functions; each model defines what its channels mean.
- RDM
- Management communication for querying or configuring compatible equipment over a compatible path.
- Patch
- Assignment of fixture, profile, address and universe in the control system.
- Personality
- A control mode defining the channels and functions used by a fixture.
