Preparation and troubleshooting
ETC Element 2: panel cues and changes that do not appear
Organize a clear sequence and separate cue editing, manual control and actual output.
Proposed test, scope and alternatives
Element 2 uses a single cue list. We propose arrival, presentation, questions, video and closing looks with agreed labels and timing. Independent lists may call for another console; importing a file can require adaptation.
Channel faders use LTP pickup: movement that does not reach the current level may not take control. Check bank and function before treating this as hardware failure.
- Preserve original, working copy, software and patch. Separate logical channel from physical address and verify fixture model/mode.
- Record the sequence and test the next cue after each edit. Track/Cue Only affects propagation; choose the editing policy before large changes.
- Check Live/Blind and active cue. Blind edits save immediately, but editing an active cue there does not itself change the current stage state.
- Check fader pickup, masters, submasters and special states such as Park before repatching. Isolate one channel in rehearsal and compare console, output and fixture.
- Deliver sequence, agreed recovery controls and tested file. We can assess programming, console and operator from date, venue and approximate program.
Start with your date, venue and approximate needs. We can assess equipment, configuration and operation within an agreed scope.
Does Record Only capture the entire stage?
No. It stores manual values. Choose the intended recording scope and review the following cue.
Can Blind edits be left unsaved?
Blind edits save immediately. Use a copy and check scope; it is not a disposable draft.
Does an unresponsive fader prove failure?
Check bank, function and pickup first. If unresolved, record software, channel, port and controlled test for support.
Can you prepare only the file?
We can assess file preparation, adaptation or partial/full operation. Agree on real-system rehearsal and responsibilities rather than assuming they are included.
