Inputs and channels are different counts
Pearl Nexus has one 3G-SDI and two HDMI inputs. Epiphan recommends up to three 1080p30 channels with one Full HD source per channel; workload depends on design. Documented protocols include RTMP/RTMPS and SRT. This is not a 4K Pearl-2.
Proposed use: speaker camera, presentation and a program composition for streaming or recording. List simultaneous sources and the file associated with each deliverable. Connector count does not establish how many complex compositions the project can sustain.
Storage, licenses and automation
Support distinguishes storage variants. Confirm the offered unit’s media and capacity before calculating duration. Dante requires firmware 4.24.6 or later and license activation; a network port does not establish entitlement.
For recurring installations, identify who administers the device, accounts and CMS. Review permissions, schedule, time zone, event channels and automatic delivery in documentation for the selected service. An accepted schedule does not prove the correct file was captured or uploaded. Confirm subscriptions and integration scope explicitly.
Rehearse capture through delivery
Prepare an identifiable test session: speech, a small-text slide, clip and closing. Run planned simultaneous functions and watch reception, recording and free space. Open files with the recipient and compare picture, tracks and duration.
If upload fails, retain the local file, time, error and destination. Separate recording, transfer queue and server receipt. Agree retention and copies before the event so lack of space does not endanger pending material. A filename at the destination is insufficient reason to delete originals.
When to compare another system
For a room with recurring classes or sessions, evaluate scheduled operation with assigned administration and support. For touring shows with unpredictable changes, compare dedicated switching feeding an encoder or a laptop prepared for the required functions. Selection depends on operator, files and destinations as well as form factor.

Does a scheduled event confirm delivery?

What if requirements exceed the tested project’s capacity?
Separating composition, streaming and recording may require other devices or upstream switching. Repeat rehearsal with the proposed architecture and confirm deliverables before booking.
