Model, version and alternatives

Pearl-2 combines sources into channel layouts for recording and streaming. Identify version, physical/network sources, concurrent channels and activated features; do not transfer Pearl Mini or Nexus limits.

Epiphan states 4K is standard on units purchased from April 5, 2026; earlier purchases require the 4K add-on. Check actual activation. Compare HD when delivery does not need 4K, or separate production/recording for independent operation.

Case 33: agreed program and files

Build a program channel with speaker, slides and combined layouts. Design additional isolated channels/recordings within actual capacity. A multi-camera composition in one file does not deliver separate camera files.

List picture/audio sources, format, streaming destination, recording and file name per channel. Check space, duration and transfer under full configuration. Verify output, external reception and a recorded sample with speech, slide and cuts.

Coordinate viewer mix and guest return with audio. Where a mixer or encoder is supplied, scope capture/recording only or compare overlapping functions before adding equipment.

Case 34: speaker or room change

Prepare source, layout, active audio, holding slide and operator per cue. In Epiphan Live, Switch takes the Preview layout to Live. Check actual output and destination rather than a thumbnail.

The manual notes that switching interfaces may need refreshing to reflect changes made in another interface. Assign one operating position and coordinate concurrent controllers.

Before moving rooms, preserve configuration and identify new sources, network and access separately. Rehearse room/speaker identity, levels, output and file. For adjacent sessions, compare two prepared systems or a fixed continuous setup when relocation leaves no rehearsal time.
