Elation FUZE PROFILE: framing and color consistency
Prepare the presentation zone and compare fixture mixes without confusing CMY emulation with physical color filters.
Model and application
A color profile moving head for evaluating face framing, gobos and scenery. This is FUZE PROFILE FUZ495, not FUZE PROFILE CW, SFX or PFX. The manufacturer marks it discontinued; that does not establish rental availability for a date.
Reference: English manual 1.9, April 29, 2025, published by Elation Europe. Prepare from the actual unit and version; a newer manual does not establish installed firmware.
Prepare your inquiry
- Send the date, venue, participant count, movement area and tentative duration. Photos and approximate dimensions are enough to start.
- Identify permitted mounting positions, cameras and existing lights, and what your production supplies.
- GLMedia can evaluate rental and alternatives, mounting, configuration and operation. Model, accessories, availability and scope require proposal confirmation.
Functions and connections
The engine combines RGBMA. The manual distinguishes RGBMA control from CMY emulation; this is not three physical filters or automatically interchangeable values.
Optical state and fan operation also affect level and appearance. Record settings before comparing and do not transfer another FUZE model’s limits.
Proposed preparation
- Mark seats or movement routes and required camera shots. With mounting approved and movement clear, prepare stable light before adding effects.
- Match variant, version, mode and address at fixture and console. Test one unit over a known data route before expanding the system.
- Test aim and zoom with a person at each mark, looking forward and sideways. Adjust dark zones and overlaps without blindly raising the entire rig.
- Compare white and color at agreed camera exposure, one source at a time. Record settings and transitions; save a useful recovery state and assign its operator.
Questions and troubleshooting
How do I prepare speaker light without washing out the screen?
Define the zone with a stand-in and background on; compare positions before adding fixtures.
- Test zoom, focus and blades at marks and through transitions. Review camera shots when recorded; a constant edge during head movement is not guaranteed.
- GLMedia can evaluate prepared zones, suitable fixed light or separate face/effect sources. Send date, photos, movement and approximate distances.
Why do two units produce different tones at the same values?
Compare personality and actual conditions first; do not start by changing calibration.
- Check RGBMA/CMY mixing, white reference, received values, filters, dimmer and fan mode in a common scene. Do not copy CW or PFX charts.
- Isolate a source and record skin and a neutral reference at agreed exposure. Preserve version and symptom for service if needed; do not erase calibration or errors.
Does the console color picker handle every mix?
Profile representation and emitters affect results; a palette does not prove identical source rendition.
- Test a small set of whites, skin and program colors before building the show. Save the approved mode and scene.
- GLMedia can evaluate profiles, preparation, rehearsal and operation with rental; availability and scope require proposal confirmation.
Precautions
- The manual specifies indoor use. Do not transfer outdoor-model conditions or improvise protective covers.
- Qualified personnel must verify mounts, safety attachments and power for the actual unit and accessories; do not feed it from a dimmer output.
- Keep movement clear, follow ventilation and manual restrictions, and avoid direct eye exposure. Persistent errors or damage require removal from service, not field opening or recalibration.
