DSAN PerfectCue Mini

PerfectCue Mini: cues, USB and backup control

Ask GLMedia about rental options for presentation control. We review availability, configuration, and alternatives for your event.

Model and scope

With the date, location, and intended use, we can review which equipment and combination can be offered. You can inquire before measurements, drawings, or the final schedule are ready.

DSAN PerfectCue Mini, reference PC-MINI, sends visual and audible cues to an operator or controls a presentation through USB. It differs from PerfectCue Micro and the larger PerfectCue receiver.

Transmitter, buttons and receiver labels may vary. Identify each component before copying a configuration; Mini lacks the larger PerfectCue’s belt-pack intercom pass-through.

Video, monitoring and control

Radio and cues
Communication at 433.92 MHz with 256 DIP-addressed channels. The manufacturer states a nominal range of 300 ft, not guaranteed coverage in every venue. Confirm transmitter type and battery.
USB A and B
Two programmable USB connections control two computers. They appear as standard USB keyboards without special drivers. Delivery depends on enabled outputs and the active window on each computer.
Interconnection and power
RJ45 and XLR connect cue lights, carrying proprietary data and power. Do not connect them to Ethernet, PoE or audio equipment. Use the DSAN supply specified for the revision; USB operation does not power every linked accessory.

System requirements

A PC-MINI receiver and compatible transmitter with matching address and the battery specified for that transmitter. Mini does not determine button count.

USB cables and prepared computers, with the correct backup file and position. External power and compatible accessories when linking units.

Basic preparation

  1. Identify revision, transmitter and power. Check matching DIP addresses; use the official table when mixing generations with different switch counts.
  2. Enable RF reception. For linked units, the current manual specifies Remote Control ON on the receiving unit and OFF downstream; older revisions use Master/Slave. Check actual labels.
  3. Test visual/audible cues first, then USB on each computer. Enable intended connections and focus the presentation application.
  4. To change keystrokes, use the PC-MINI programmer through USB A with specified power. Save and verify every button on both computers before the event.
  5. Rehearse forward, back, blank if present and backup switching from the presenter position. Check actual screens as well as cue reception.

Three technical questions

Why does the arrow light up without advancing the presentation?

The light confirms cue reception, not execution by the application. Check USB, enabled outputs, keyboard recognition, programming and window focus.

Test each computer separately. Using its own keyboard helps distinguish an application command from the control path.

Do USB A and B allow two independent presenters on one receiver?

They are two USB destinations, not two independent RF receivers. Define which buttons and outputs should act before assigning transmitters.

For main and backup, check file, position and advancement on both. Receiving the same keystroke does not correct an already mismatched slide.

What should I check if a button opens another app or sends an unexpected command?

Preserve programming and record button, computer and context. Compare assigned commands, active window and behavior with a single unit, then check interconnection and RF reception on linked units.

Do not replace keystrokes with forum recipes or change the operating system to hide the symptom. If it persists, check revision and configuration with DSAN support before resuming operation.

Limits and precautions

Interconnection ports can carry power: use them only as DSAN specifies. Do not patch these cables into audio or network systems.

Check USB adapter compatibility with the actual computer. Do not assume a programmer for a different PC-Micro revision supports PC-MINI.

If the transmitter includes a laser, follow its specific instructions and do not point it at people. Pointer operation does not establish cue reception or slide advancement.
