Ovation Rêve F-3: faces and mixed-source whites
Prepare the Fresnel for interviews or panels and compare fixtures from different brands with a consistent test.
Model and application
An RGBAM Fresnel with motorized zoom for evaluating face light and stage areas. This page addresses the indoor OVATIONREVEF3; E-3 and F-3 IP are different models. Official English manual Rev4, August 2025.
For interviews, compare position and shadow character; for panels, check every seat and head turn. Near a screen, soft coverage may require another position or a complementary profile fixture.
Prepare your inquiry
- Send the date, venue, participant count, movement area and tentative duration. Photos and approximate dimensions are enough to start.
- Identify permitted mounting positions, cameras and existing lights, and what your production supplies.
- GLMedia can evaluate rental and alternatives, mounting, configuration and operation. Model, accessories, availability and scope require proposal confirmation.
Functions and connections
Mode selection changes available controls. Match chart, personality and firmware before adjusting color at the console.
Red Shift imitates halogen dimming; Color Calibration may change the mixing reference. Record both when comparing whites to distinguish settings from faults.
Confirm zoom and accessories for the actual package. Do not transfer E-3 barndoors or restrictions, or assume a Fresnel produces focused framing.
Proposed preparation
- Record model, version, optics and accessories. Verify non-dimmed power, mounting and ventilation against the manual.
- Prepare position and zoom for the person or seats without glare. Test forward and side-facing positions with camera where relevant.
- Compare isolated sources at agreed exposure and balance. Record color mode, CCT, available correction/calibration, level and Red Shift; change one condition at a time.
- Save the agreed scene and repeat low levels and transitions. For recorded sound, listen from the microphones with the planned fan mode; a label does not establish silence.
Questions and troubleshooting
Can a Fresnel light a panel without spilling onto the background?
It may work if coverage and position meet the task. Test people and background together.
- Check endpoints, turns, shadows and spill with planned furniture and content. Repositioning or independent face/background light may work better.
- GLMedia can compare F-3, a profile for a more defined edge or zoned equipment. Send photos and approximate distances; quantity and accessories require confirmation.
Why does the same CCT look different next to another brand?
The number does not describe the full source-and-camera response. Do not copy RGB values between families.
- Isolate sources and compare a neutral reference, skin and clothing with a fixed camera. Check Red Shift, calibration and mode without erasing existing settings.
- Agree on a shared result before saving palettes. If supported controls cannot achieve it, evaluate another source or position; spectral equality and every-tone matching are not promised.
Does Fan Off or Silent preserve full output without noise?
Do not assume so. The manual warns of hotter housing in these modes; the package needs a light-and-sound test.
- Test for the planned duration with clear ventilation and actual microphones. Never cover the fixture or bypass protection.
- GLMedia can evaluate another position or source and define preparation or operation. Model, mode, availability and scope require confirmation.
Precautions
- The manual specifies indoor use. Do not transfer outdoor-model conditions or improvise protective covers.
- Qualified personnel must verify mounts, safety attachments and power for the actual unit and accessories; do not feed it from a dimmer output.
- Keep movement clear, follow ventilation and manual restrictions, and avoid direct eye exposure. Persistent errors or damage require removal from service, not field opening or recalibration.
