Maverick Force S Profile: speaker framing and DMX mode
Prepare face-light and screen zones with the exact model, and diagnose mode/patch differences before changing the show.
Model and application
A profile moving head for proposed framed zones, projection and stage effects. The exact model is Maverick Force S Profile; Force S Spot and Maverick Storm 2 Profile are different fixtures. Do not reuse their charts or accessories based on resemblance.
This page uses the official February 2025 Rev8 manual. For conferences, separate useful face lighting from effects. When both are simultaneous, compare dedicated sources or zones rather than promising one moving head can cover every route.
Prepare your inquiry
- Send the date, venue, participant count, movement area and tentative duration. Photos and approximate dimensions are enough to start.
- Identify permitted mounting positions, cameras and existing lights, and what your production supplies.
- GLMedia can evaluate rental and alternatives, mounting, configuration and operation. Model, accessories, availability and scope require proposal confirmation.
Functions and connections
The manual documents 31- and 47-channel personalities and DMX, WDMX, Art-Net or sACN control. Confirm selected source and actual personality; an active link does not prove a matching patch.
The framing system has four blades. Prepare zoom, focus and framing together for the position and surface; a focused edge at one mark does not guarantee it throughout movement.
Preserve library version and settings before importing another show. Do not begin by changing calibration or updating firmware to fix shifted attributes.
Proposed preparation
- Request a photo or sketch showing speaker, screen, available positions and heights. Mark movement and areas to keep dark; approximate dimensions are useful for comparing options.
- Back up the show and photograph mode, address and version. Match Personality to the exact library entry and Control Mode to the planned route; reserve the full footprint.
- Use one fixture and a known signal to check dimmer, movement and individual functions in a clear zone. Then prepare zoom, focus and framing with a stand-in at the marks.
- Rehearse endpoints and transitions with bright/dark screen content and camera where relevant. Keep stable face light and an agreed recovery state; assign responsibility for changes.
Questions and troubleshooting
How can we keep speaker light off the screen?
Framing can help, but position, zoom, focus and movement determine the result. Prepare a joint test without promising zero spill.
- Check blades and edges with the person at the endpoints and the screen on. If the zone opens during movement, try another permitted position or several zones.
- GLMedia can evaluate the Profile, suitable fixed lighting or separate face/effect sources. Send photos, approximate distance and camera shots to define the quote.
Why does the fixture respond with the wrong functions?
Check personality-to-patch correspondence first rather than rebuilding the whole show.
- Compare 31/47 channels at fixture and console, address and signal source. A Force S Spot personality is not Force S Profile.
- Isolate one unit and change one attribute at a time with known values. If matching modes fixes it, record the change and check affected scenes before expanding it.
Does rental include preparing and operating the framing?
Define these services in the proposal. Delivering a moving head does not establish that a show has been programmed for your stage.
- Send the date, venue, movement and available equipment/staff; a final drawing is not required to start.
- GLMedia can evaluate supply, mounting, profile adaptation, scene preparation, rehearsal and operation separately. Model, count, accessories and availability require confirmation.
Precautions
- The manual specifies indoor use. Do not transfer outdoor-model conditions or improvise protective covers.
- Qualified personnel must verify mounts, safety attachments and power for the actual unit and accessories; do not feed it from a dimmer output.
- Keep movement clear, follow ventilation and manual restrictions, and avoid direct eye exposure. Persistent errors or damage require removal from service, not field opening or recalibration.
