Chauvet Professional COLORado Solo Batten
Configure the 12-section bar: personality, cell order, address and protocol must match the patch.
Ask GLMedia about renting Chauvet Professional COLORado Solo Batten for your event. Availability and configuration are subject to confirmation.

A homogenized light bar for color washes and sectional effects. The selected grouping determines independent control in the patch. Confirm the complete name: Solo Batten 4 has a different layout and map.
Prepare your rental inquiry
- Date, city, venue and setup, event and pickup schedule.
- Intended use, area dimensions and equipment already supplied by the venue or production.
- Wash, effect or accent use; location and target area.
- Required zone or pixel control, profile and cabling, subject to model functions.
Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.
You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.
Features and connections
The wall-washing filter and glare shield affect coverage and glare. Test position and spill on the actual surface before choosing bar spacing.
The menu can run from its backup battery for preparation; light output still requires AC power.
The personality combines cell grouping and color mode. Options with equal channel counts can have different functions.
Prepare the system
- Check nameplate, connectors, filter and support. Add secondary retention when suspended and let a fixture acclimate before powering it if condensation occurred.
- Under Protocol select DMX512, ArtNet or sACN for the system. For Ethernet, set IP and Universe as well as Start Address.
- Select Personality, recording cells and the complete name. Confirm Cell Order and DMX Error/Loss; check the new patch for overlaps.
Questions and troubleshooting
Receiving data, but not following the controls?
Compare the complete mode before changing individual channels.
- Confirm protocol and address at the fixture and console. For an isolated test, use a known source and cable and remove the fixture from Master/Slave control.
- In 1-Cell RGBAW with 5 channels, controls are red, green, blue, amber and white. There is no separate master dimmer; do not confuse it with EXT, Fine or FULL.
- If local output works but console control fails, compare personality and the selected map’s macro, strobe and dimmer functions. Avoid a factory reset during a performance.
Does the effect run backward or appear grouped?
Cell count and travel direction are different settings.
- Match Personality grouping to the console’s pixel layout. A grouped mode does not address every physical section independently.
- Check Cell Order for normal or reversed travel. Test a section at a time before reversing the effect in software.
- Reserve the full footprint. As a calculated example, 160 channels starting at 353 end at 512; a later start truncates the map.
No Ethernet response, or is the last look retained?
A connected cable does not confirm universe, protocol or data-loss behavior.
- Check IP, protocol and universe at both ends. Confirm console universe numbering with a simple test; do not copy a number without checking its correspondence.
- Settings offers Hold Last and Blackout under DMX Error/Loss. Test signal loss during preparation, away from the show, and record installed firmware behavior.
- For sACN interruptions, record firmware and switch settings. Official notes include an IGMP fix; assess a planned update with support rather than updating during operation.
Quick reference
| Personality | Channels | Last start within a universe |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Cell RGBAW | 5 | 508 |
| 12-Cell RGB | 36 | 477 |
| 12-Cell RGBAW FULL | 160 | 353 |
Precautions
- Temporary outdoor use requires appropriate IP cables and closures; do not immerse or leave unused ports uncapped. This does not establish suitability for permanent outdoor installation.
- Allow 50 cm ventilation clearance from adjacent surfaces; do not exceed 45 °C ambient. The housing may become hot.
- Use grounded, non-dimmable power. Size links for the nameplate, cable and protection; appearance does not establish connector interchangeability.
- For camera work, check available PWM and test actual shutter and frame-rate settings. Power Mode and Steady Mode can also change output level.
Terms on this page
- DMX
- A data protocol controlling lighting functions; each model defines what its channels mean.
- RDM
- Management communication for querying or configuring compatible equipment over a compatible path.
- PWM
- Modulation of LED output; interaction with a camera may produce recorded bands or variations.
- Patch
- Assignment of fixture, profile, address and universe in the control system.
