Bosch DICENTIS DCNM-IDESK: interpreter workstation

Prepare listening, microphone and language delivery within a complete conference system.

Ask about rental, purchase or integration

Tell us the use, date and venue, even with an approximate brief. We can assess equipment, integration, preparation and technical support. Configuration, availability and terms are confirmed in the proposal.

Case 37: the desk is not the entire system

DCNM-IDESK, reference F.01U.314.659, is a human interpreter desk within DICENTIS. DCNM-IDESKVID is a separate variant; do not transfer its video functions. The desk does not translate automatically or provide an entire language-distribution or assisted-listening system.

Define source/target languages, interpreters/booths, floor and required relay feeds, and audience listening. Identify desks, supported microphones/headsets, central system and applicable software/licenses, documented network/power and participant/receiver distribution. Desk count alone leaves routes and resources unresolved.

Map conference microphones → interpreter floor feed → interpreter mic → language program → participant selection or supported external distribution. Stream/remote feeds need an agreed delivery; networking the desk does not automatically supply them.

Case 38: hand the system to interpreters

  1. Identify system/firmware, booth/desk, available languages and configured A/B/C outputs against the applicable guide. A saved file does not prove a new desk is assigned; avoid duplicate identities.
  2. With interpreters check floor/relay listening, comfortable level, mic and transmission states. Listening input selection and outgoing language selection are separate decisions.
  3. Speak an identified phrase per language and check the intended audience, remote or recording destination. If the interpreter hears but nobody receives their voice, trace mic/transmit state, output language and final distribution rather than changing all channels.
  4. Agree handovers, mute and recovery. Keep settings: the guide warns desk changes take effect in real time and should not be made during an active meeting. Proposed checks are not a completed interpretation job or booth-condition approval.

Discuss interpretation and technical operation

Evaluate rental, purchase, integration and technical operation. Interpreter staffing and working conditions need their own scope. Start with date, venue, approximate languages/audience; compare existing DICENTIS, a prepared system or another supported solution. Identify distribution, interfaces, required licenses and rehearsal without assuming stock or enabled features.

More setup questions

Does DCNM-IDESK provide automatic translation?

No. It supports human interpretation. Provide interpreters, input audio and distribution per language.

Does hearing floor prove the audience receives interpretation?

No. Check interpreter mic, outgoing language, routing and selection at the actual destination.
