BilJax ST8100: steel decks, cam locks and support checks

Identify the ST8100 deck and support arrangement before checking joints, height or guardrails.

Identify the platform

Ask GLMedia about rental options for your event. The proposal is subject to availability, confirmation of the model and configuration, and the venue’s technical requirements.

ST8100 is the steel Multi-Stage family. Record each deck, leg and accessory reference; an AS2100 component needs its own documented compatibility.

What the published specifications cover

Identification example
The 4 × 4 ft gray-carpet deck is 0106-052-3.
Interfaces
Mechanical leg sockets, pins and deck cam locks; guardrails have their own mounting hardware.

Confirm allowable loads for the complete layout, support conditions and actual contact loads. A deck size alone does not establish capacity.

Deck, supports and accessories

Match decks, legs, foot pads, required braces, guardrails and access components to the assembly drawing.

Prepare the configuration

  1. Check the ground and support plan before assembly.
  2. For the fittings in the cited October 2019 manual, insert the leg fully until it contacts the deck underside and position the snap-pin head outward. Compare deck orientation and cam-lock engagement with the matching instructions. A pin that enters a hole alone does not establish full leg seating.
  3. Inspect every joint and required brace before opening the stage.

Three technical questions

There is a gap between decks. Should I force the cam lock?

No. Keep the area unloaded; check orientation, alignment and visible obstruction against the manual. Do not use the lock to pull a faulty assembly into place.

Does increasing leg length leave the rest unchanged?

No. Recheck the complete support and bracing arrangement for the new height. Do not adjust an occupied stage or improvise extensions.

Is a guardrail held by its snap pin enough?

No. The documented mounting also needs bolts. Close access until the specified hardware and installation are verified.

Identify the guardrail reference and compare every required pin and bolt with the mounting drawing. A pin’s presence does not establish that all other fasteners are installed. Keep the affected access closed until the complete specified attachment is verified.

Before anyone uses the stage

Stop use for movement, missing hardware or damage. Resolve supports and edge protection with the responsible installer and applicable site requirements.
