BilJax AS2100: leg seating, hooks and alignment brackets

Check the AS2100 aluminum stage against its assembly revision: full leg seating, deck-hook orientation and corner alignment before use.

Identify the platform

Ask GLMedia about rental options for your event. The proposal is subject to availability, confirmation of the model and configuration, and the venue’s technical requirements.

AS2100 is a modular aluminum staging system. This guide covers the pin-and-wing-bolt fittings illustrated in BilJax manual LL-204-51, October 2019. Match the deck and hardware to that revision before applying its steps; a different fitting requires its own instructions.

What the published specifications cover

Example deck reference
C105-20-7: 4 × 8 ft, black Quadripple surface. Other deck references and shapes are separate selections.
Mechanical interfaces
Leg sockets, interlocking rail hooks and corner alignment brackets. These are mechanical connections; no signal or electrical supply is required for the platform itself.
Telescoping legs in the cited manual
Minimum tube overlap: 6 in. Identify the specified tubes, base pad and snap pins before setting length.

The load table in the manual depends on deck size, number of legs and maximum height. A rating for another row is not transferable to your layout. Concentrated equipment loads and ground bearing need review by a competent professional.

Deck, supports and accessories

Specify decks, legs, base pads, corner alignment brackets, required bracing and the correct access and guardrail components. A deck SKU does not establish that these accessories are included. The manual requires mudsills outdoors and horizontal bearing surfaces; it does not size a universal ground-support pad.

Prepare the configuration

  1. Record deck and support references, layout, intended finished height and loads. Confirm which manual revision applies before assembly.
  2. For the cited fittings, the leg must be fully inserted until it touches the underside of the deck; the pin retains it but is not a load-bearing member. Secure the wing bolt as instructed. Inspect only with the assembly unloaded and safely accessible.
  3. Follow the hook orientation and alignment-bracket arrangement in the manual, then its bracing plan. Above 30 in the cited manual requires bracing; this threshold does not replace the full arrangement or project review.

Three technical questions

The pin engages, but a leg does not reach the deck. Is that enough?

No. In the October 2019 fittings, a pin position alone does not establish correct support. Keep the bay unloaded; compare socket depth and the leg’s full insertion with the manual’s correct/incorrect drawings. Do not rest the deck on the pin, drill another hole or modify the leg. Have an unresolved obstruction or mismatch corrected through the responsible supplier.

Two decks will not seat together. What should I check?

Compare their rail-hook orientation and starting corner with the layout before lowering the next deck. Check for damage and obstructions with the sections unloaded. Verify the required corner alignment bracket is fully seated and secured as documented. Do not hammer the hooks or substitute a clamp for the specified bracket.

Can I omit legs or bracing because the next deck shares a support?

Shared support follows the manufacturer’s row sequence and the selected load-table configuration, not a general rule per square foot. Mark each leg, intermediate support and bracket on the layout and check the bracing instructions. Keep an undocumented bay out of use. Do not use a people-on-stage test to establish capacity.

Before anyone uses the stage

Keep people off staging while supports or connections are adjusted. Stop for movement, settlement, damaged hooks or missing brackets. Guards, access and exterior conditions must be checked for the actual installation; a modular deck is not a roof or an approved attachment point for suspended equipment.
