Lighting and control
Astera LunaBulb
Prepare LunaBulb FP7: distinguish E26 from E27/B22, configure AsteraApp or CRMX, and match the DMX profile to each bulb.
Ask GLMedia about renting Astera LunaBulb for your event. Availability and configuration are subject to confirmation.

LED bulb for practical fixtures in scenery and film work. It provides white or colored light, with a removable dome to change its appearance. The base supplies power; control arrives by radio or infrared.
Prepare your rental inquiry
- Date, city, venue and setup, event and pickup schedule.
- Intended use, area dimensions and equipment already supplied by the venue or production.
- Color, brightness and total powered time, including checks and waiting.
- Chargers or case, compatible control, placement and replacement plan.
Specify equipment only or whether setup, programming, operation and strike are also needed. Scope is confirmed in the proposal.
You do not need a final equipment list: tell us the result you want and the part you need help with. Availability and scope are confirmed in the proposal.
Features and connections
There is no wired DMX input. Console control requires a compatible transmitter; another device having wireless DMX does not establish compatibility.
The built-in Bluetooth Bridge supports AsteraApp control. The PrepCase battery supports preparation in the case: it does not make an individual bulb battery powered.
Prepare the system
- With power isolated, check the bulb code, supply voltage and fixture base. A mechanical adapter does not convert voltage.
- Connect a BTB to AsteraApp. To activate BlueMode with White Remote ARC3, press Bluemode 1/2, then Bluemode 2/2 within 5 seconds; complete Pair with Lights. With PrepCase/PrepInlay, use its documented BlueMode function.
- For console control, link the receiver to the transmitter and set profile and address in the app or case. Test intensity, colors and blackout before installation on set.
Questions and troubleshooting
Does the bulb fail to appear in AsteraApp?
Connecting the Bluetooth bridge and pairing the light are separate steps.
- Confirm continuous power and a BTB connection in Manage Bluetooth Bridges.
- Activate BlueMode on the bulb with ARC3 or the case, then use Pair with Lights. Do not look for the power button found on other Astera models.
- Test near the bridge and confirm the selected bulb before changing settings or firmware.
Is the radio linked but dimming or color incorrect?
A link does not confirm universe, address or profile.
- Check the transmitter protocol and the universe it receives from the console.
- Match profile, address and strobe option. In DIM RGB, the dimmer must be open as well as the color channels.
- Record settings before a reset: it changes Input Select to AUTO and runtime to MAX. Check the patch again afterward.
Is the bulb powered but producing no light?
Separate power from the lighting command.
- Check blackout, intensity, black color and a possible DMX input without a valid signal. Try a static color from the selected control source.
- Do not use a mains dimmer to adjust it: it needs direct power and electronic dimming through its controls.
- If the issue persists, isolate power and allow cooling before checking the socket or replacing the bulb. Blackout does not disconnect the electronics.
Quick reference
| V5 example, strobe off | Channels | Last start |
|---|---|---|
| 1: RGB | 3 | 510 |
| 4: DIM RGB | 4 | 509 |
| 6: DIM RGBAW | 6 | 507 |
Precautions
- FP7-E26: 100–120 VAC. FP7-E27 / FP7-B22: 100–240 VAC. Check the label; never infer voltage solely from base shape.
- IP44 depends on the socket and installation. Ambient 0–40 °C; do not cover the bulb and maintain ventilation.
- The manual specifies surfaces up to 70 °C and 0.3 m clearance to illuminated objects. Allow cooling before handling; professional use, with no permanent installation.
Terms on this page
- DMX
- A data protocol controlling lighting functions; each model defines what its channels mean.
