amaran 300c: presentations and camera stability tests

Prepare documented mounts, modifiers and control, and diagnose exposure changes without copying another fixture’s menus.

Model and application

An RGBWW point source with Bowens mount for evaluating interviews or presentations. It is not amaran 300d, 150c or STORM; verify the name and package before selecting accessories. Compare diffusion, bounce or compatible optics for the shot.

The manufacturer-linked manual identifies 300c, but some drawings are labeled 100c. This discrepancy is retained: those labels are not used to infer parts or dimensions. Checks use controls and compatibility documented for 300c.

Functions and connections

Documented control includes local CCT/HSI and Sidus Link. An app connection does not prove the correct fixture or scene is selected.

Bowens alone does not confirm accessory thermal, weight or support compatibility. Check the manufacturer’s list for the exact package.

Proposed preparation

  1. Define subject, camera, background and permitted position. Test the compatible modifier with support and power prepared for the actual package.
  2. Save exposure and balance agreed with video; record CCT/HSI, correction, intensity and scene. Start with an isolated source.
  3. Record high and low levels and transitions with the same camera settings. Separate ambient light, active effects and automatic camera adjustment before changing several conditions.
  4. Repeat after changing position or accessory and save the result. Evaluate another source or setup if the combination cannot meet the shot.

Questions and troubleshooting

Can it light several people during a presentation?

Participant count alone does not determine coverage or required output. Test zones and shots.

  1. Send photos, movement or seats, windows and approximate distances. Check endpoints, head turns and shadows with the planned modifier.
  2. GLMedia can compare one source, multiple zones or reinforcement with existing fixtures. Accessories, mounting and operation require a proposal; no universal throw is promised.
What should I check for banding or unstable exposure?

Isolate the symptom: light variation differs from automatic camera adjustment or mixed ambient sources.

  1. With video, fix a reference and record each source separately at working levels. Label camera, frame rate, shutter, mode and level in each clip.
  2. Do not apply another model’s PWM or High-Speed menus. If needed, evaluate a different camera/source combination; complete freedom from bands is not promised.
Why does the app seem to change another light or scene?

Check fixture identity and selection before resetting the system.

  1. Compare Bluetooth identity and local control with one fixture in a controlled zone. Confirm CCT/HSI and active effects.
  2. Preserve settings before repairing a link. GLMedia can evaluate control preparation and operation as well as equipment supply.
